Do you or someone you know have any of these symptoms?
Disrupted sleep can cause havoc on your health due to the lack of oxygen flow to your brain and body. This has long term impacts to your health including anxiety, lack of energy and motivation, and the potential to thrive throughout the day.
This is a condition where the tongue presses forward while swallowing causing pressure along the teeth, leading to swallowing issues and misalignment of teeth.
A tongue tie comes when the tongue is restricted in movement by having a shortened, thick, or tight band, or lingual frenum, that keeps the tongue attached to the floor of the mouth. Lingual and buccal ties affect the availability of the lips and cheeks to work with the tongue. This restricts movement for daily tasks such as swallowing, articulating for speech, posture, and difficulty breathing through your nose.
We are meant to breathe through our nose, giving our bodies a natural way to clean and humidify the air. When nasal breathing is hard for us, we start breathing through our mouth to get the correct amount of oxygen. This can lead to alterations of our facial development, bad posture, smaller airway, and a receding chin.
When there is restriction in the mouth, this can lead to grinding or clenching causing pain and discomfort due to the stress placed on the muscles of the tongue and mouth.
Constant stress put on muscles can lead to many unwanted pains through the head and neck leading to poor posture, sleep disruptions, and headaches to migraines.
Without proper function of the tongue, the food is not manipulated correctly causing a hard time swallowing, which can lead to heartburn and digestion complications.

Hi there! I’m Chaning, a Dental Hygienist with 13 years of experience in the industry. While going through my training to be a hygienist I found the topics surrounding sleep and myofunctional therapy to be fascinating. As I learned more about breathing habits, tongue posture, sleep, and nutrition I was intrigued by how connected they are to a person’s general well-being. I have had many of the same conditions including teeth grinding, recurring cavities, TMD relapse, and sleep concerns so, as I learned more on the topics it stoked my interest in myofunctional therapy. This fire helped me down the path to start my own clinic and see how I can help others with these issues and concerns. I have absolutely loved finding peace alongside other patients of all ages through all of these issues and I’m ready to help you find answers and healing too!
I love staying active through CrossFit, motorsports, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family.
